Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media.Although we do everything possible to get seeds to you in the best possible condition and will provide as much help as possible, these factors are totally outside of our control and once you receive the seeds its over to you. Consequently, we can take no responsibility for the suitability to your local conditions of any variety offered, the indicative cultivation advice provided or ultimately the varieties performance. BROCCOLI - 500 SEEDS - EARLY WINTER HARDY
    BROCCOLI - 500 SEEDS - EARLY WINTER HARDY *

DescriptionBroccoli is classified in the Italica cultivar group of the species Brassica oleracea. Broccoli has large flower heads, usually green in color, arranged in a tree-like structure branching out from a thick, edible stalk. The mass of flower heads is surrounded by leaves. Broccoli resembles cauliflower, which is a different cultivar group of the same species.Broccoli cauliflower is easier to grow than white and is tasty and more nutritious. It is delicious raw or cooked and freezes well. This variety has a medium sized green head that growing about 15-20cm/6-8". It is extremely cold hardy and produces many side shoots. Give each plant almost 2 sq. ft. if you want to harvest side shoots after cutting the main head. Something interestingEaten raw, broccoli has a number of nutritional elements. It’s important to note that broccoli is best when eaten raw, because cooking and processing destroys some of its antioxidants. It has twice the vitamin C of an orange, almost as much calcium as whole milk (with a better rate of absorption), and contains anti-cancer and anti-viral properties with its selenium content.Sowing instruction.Sow in Late spring/ summerSow the seeds 1cm (½in) deep into 7cm (3in) pots. Make sure that the compost remains moist. The seedlings will appear a week to ten days later. Thin out the seedlings to 50 cm (22in) apart.Transplant, (or transfer the container) outside a month after sowing, space at least 50cm (22in) between each plant.Add garden lime to the soil if acidic. Tolerates frost once established. Cover the developing heads with the leaves, loosely tying them in place with string, to prevent the bright purple heads from fading in the sun. Takes 6-8 weeks from sowing until harvest.

Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media.Although we do everything possible to get seeds to you in the best possible condition and will provide as much help as possible, these factors are totally outside of our control and once you receive the seeds its over to you.
